radio w/ still flyin' interview
I stopped the weekly reminders a while ago, but I do still host Mesmerization Eclipse on WZBC 90.3 FM. Starting this week it'll be a biweekly show, every other Friday, at 3 to 5 pm. And this afternoon's episode will be amazingly special, as there'll be a live in-the-studio interview with Sean SA Rawls of the band Still Flyin'. I don't know much about them, so if anybody has any questions they'd like me to ask, leave 'em in the comments box.

Saw the nearly finished france video for "That Dont Work That Well For Us" over the weekend and we'll have it to post here in the near future (they have a few final finishing touches). Jason Berg and Ice did a great job with the editing and it will be ready to blow some minds real soon.

Actually, this is one of many rare GBV records that slipped through my fingers at LowYoYo. This one especially hurt though. Hands down one of the coolest GBV related records that has ever been released, the backstory of the recording reads like a gbv fan's wet dream.
One day back in the early 1990s, Bob Pollard, Tobin Sprout, Mitch Mitchell, & Larry Keller holled up in the back room of the video store that Larry Keller worked at in Daton, OH. With a cooler of beer. All the music and lyrics were made up on the spot and most were titled after movies on the shelves. The songs are incredible and some CLASSIC shit here. This is also considered to be one of the top 1 or 2 rarest records to come from the Fading Captain Series. They printed 500 LP only records on pink marble vinyl, one of which I held in my hands at one time and didnt buy it. Now an unopened record collects over $200 on ebay, probaly more if they hadn't rereleased the songs on an expanded cd.
Hazzard Hotrods - Bigger Trouble Which brings me to the fact that I got my hands on the said suped up disc this week. The cd version comes with 7 bonus tracks, including the best song from the day of recording which was left off the vinyl - "Rat Infested Motels Of Dayton". Glad to finally jam these songs that I have wanted to hear for so damn long. I can probably rip you a copy if you want, let me know.

Tomorrow morning around 9:20 the Black Lips are going to be on the New Morning X. They'll most likely be talking about the new record, the CD release show at MJQ tomorrow and playing in Israel. They're also gonna play a song live in studio. I'm pretty stoked we were able to work this out cause their new record "Good Bad Not Evil" is waaaay killer. If you buy the CD today or tomorrow at Criminal you get admission to the show. Awesome!

I'm Afraid Its Going To Be A Loooong Season
The Falcons looked terrible yesterday. Nothing like what they looked like in the preseason. Forget the fact that they were playing against pieced together defenses, at least in the preseason they could move the ball and put together plays. Sunday they couldn't move the ball for shit, and when we finally did start moving the ball well in the second quarter, the drive sputters out and the new kicker Prater misses wide right. That drive cut our legs out from under us, the morale was shot.
Harrington on paper looked terrible. Harrington in real life didnt look much better. Huge O Line problems + an indecisive QB = Harrington sacked 6 times. He threw 2 interceptions that were run back for touchdowns. The first one was a freak play, the second wasn't. Dunn looked OLD AS SHIT and was a complete nonfactor. Crumpler looked great when he was thrown to. Harrington needs to check out film from 2005. Norwood had flashes of greatness, he'll develop further and I'm expecting him to fully takeover Dunn's job in about 5 weeks.
The defense is still a question mark for me. I think they play to the level of their competition, and on Sunday they had to deal with a lot of uncertainties. The falcons should have beat a very weak Vikings team, one of their weakest in years. The defense was on the field all day and with Taylor going down in the 2nd quarter should have been foaming at the mouth to welcome Adrian Peterson to the NFL. Instead they looked like they were reeling from what looked like full preperation for Taylor.
All this being said, I hope they dont lay another egg in Jacksonville this weekend. I think this is another game we can win based on how the Jags looked Sunday. They were almost as apathetic as us. Welcome to the NFL, Petrino. Get this loss swept under the rug and move on. Still stoked for the season, just get your shit together dudes!
I know longer listen to music. I only listen to video game podcasts.
I have no idea what this says about me.
... and you know I've tried listening to music lately, but I can barely focus even on the records I like (the new Oakley Hall, the new Les Savy Fav, etc). So obviously the ones that suck (um, hey, Kanye!) don't stand a chance.
