Mez Summer Mix Volume 4: Crewsin'

THIS WEEK's MIX comes from a dear friend and lifelong Mezpert. He's been called the "Perry Peach", "That Leisure World Lad", and the "Whizzer of Warner Robins", but in these parts he's best known as Old Man Crews, prodigal founder of the Wee Turtles and sole architect of Crewsin' for a Brewsin'. Crews DJs on Durham, NC's WXDU 88.7 FM every Tuesday from 10 AM to Noon, playing choice indie-pop hits from the past, present, and future. For you kids WXDU is a college radio station, which is like a music blog that exists inside your car and won't try to sell you idiotic t-shirts.

I haven't reviewed a record in like two years. My review of Reservoir Songs II, the new Crooked Fingers covers EP, is in this week's Boston Phoenix. Like many sequels it's solid enough but not as great as the original.

Just a few quick notes:
The Big Boi song is an unreleased track from the new Big Boi record. It was supposed to be on there, but Andre's label said nope. Never the less, new Big Boi jam with Andre.....sweet. Secondly, the REM song is the unreleased track from the new 25th anniversary edition of Fables of the Reconstruction that me and SA were talking about a few days ago.

Enjoy the tracks...catch some rays
