Should Have Gone To This...
FUCK! This was like a wet dream weekend for me back in 1991. Mudhoney, Green River, Seaweed, Vaselines, Red Red Meat, Eric's Trip, The Fluid coupled with the jammers of new: Fleet Foxes, Conchords, No Age, Beachwood Sparks, and Comets On Fire. Comedy too with David Cross and Patton. DAMN!
If flights were like, free - me and Brad Kramer probably would have gone. I remember sitting in his bedroom back in middle school listening to Nirvana, Mudhoney, thrownups and afghan whigs records (the early good ones) for hours. His sister was several years older and probably single handedly gave me a glimpse into good music. I saw Mudhoney for the first time in '93 and they fucking destroyed. Walked out and opened with
Suck You Dry and the Masquerade practically caved in on itself. Sub Pop was one of those labels to me that couldnt put out a bad record. I would walk up to turtles or that other record store in the home depot shopping center and search out any record put out on SP. 90% of it was right on, the rest was Tad. Tons of vids up at youtube of the whole event. Here are some choice ones:
